Delta’s “Ananas”, Final Preparations Before the Launch – What the “Royal Treatment” That the Biggest Regional E-Commerce Platform is to Offer to its Users Entails

In early 2021, Delta Holding announced the launching of an e-commerce platform called Ananas, in which it is to invest EUR 100 million in the next five years. The Ananas platform has already started working, the testing is ongoing and the first packages have already been dispatched from the warehouses and arrived to the addresses, Rajko Mandic, the CEO of Ananas, reveals for eKapija.

– We are currently working on perfecting the platform, which will become available to the wide public as soon as we make sure that everything is operating at the level that we want it to. When it comes to new features, you will see for yourself when the platform goes live. What we can say is that we are constantly working on perfecting and upgrading the user experience and the user interface, in order to keep up with the latest trends and create an entirely new online shopping experience for our clients – Mandic says.

He points out that it was important for them to adapt the platform to the needs of both the sellers and the purchasers.

– For that reason, we have already carried out numerous surveys, but also picked the tools that enable the sellers to offer the right product at the right moment simply and easily. The biggest difference will be in the user perception through each of the phases of online shopping – from browsing the products, ordering, to the payment and the delivery. In addition to the unique user experience, sophisticated design, user support, safe transactions and delivery, Ananas connects the sellers and the purchasers on a reliable regional online shopping platform – Mandic says for our portal.

Beta testing is in progress, which entails the testing of each aspect of the operations, from the platform to customer support, to the delivery and the overall user experience.

– We want to launch a fully functional and safe version of the Ananas platform, which will only be further perfected with time. Numerous people are working on project development – an internal team which has grown to 60 members in a short amount of time, but also external partners, such as the company HTEC, with over 70 developers dedicated to the Ananas platform, and numerous consultants from large world companies. The aim of these activities is to offer the kind of user experience that characterizes the world’s largest online stores. For that reason, among other things, we are also currently testing the way the delivery staff works and what their approach to the customers is, as well as the efficiency and the manner of communication of the customer support service, so that we would make sure that our users are truly provided with a royal treatment – our interviewee says.


The development of the Ananas business model and the creation of the platform from scratch began nearly a year ago, and, as Mandic points out, the aim was to design it in line with the needs of the local market.

– During this period, we worked intensively on defining the functionality that we want on the platform, the preparation of the project documentation, the selection of our associates and the defining of the kind of design that best reflect the Ananas offer. Parallel with this, we also worked on finding efficient logistics solutions in order to overcome one of the main challenges of online trade – the delivery – says the CEO of Ananas.
