The Finnish company PKC Wiring Systems, which produces wiring systems for commercial vehicles, has organized a two-day Job Fair in Pozarevac, offering over 500 jobs.

The very well visited fair was organized in cooperation with the city and the National Employment Service.

– We need all profiles of workers, from those with elementary school education to university graduates. All those who are employed will previously go through special training – said Kristina Ilic, the supervisor for employment and development.

In order to open its facilities in Pozarevac, the Finnish company first sent the city a letter of intent, saying that they want to work in a free zone as a requirement. After that, the members of the city parliament adopted the decision for the free zone Smederevo, where the company operates at the moment, to be expanded to the city of Pozarevac. Since this decision was adopted, the Finnish company will buy land in the city’s industrial zone, in the location of the former Fabrika Secera (Sugar Factory).

In the first phase, the foreign investor will build a facility of 9,000 m2, and in the second one another of 5,000 m2. They will produce wiring systems for commercial vehicles, mostly medium and heavy trucks. According to their letter of intent, in the first year, their investments in business operations will amount to over EUR 3.1 million. The majority owner of this company is the corporation Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd, the biggest Indian producer of car components.

Operations in the free zone

As said on the website of the Development Agency of Serbia, free zones allow for production and service activities with certain stimulating advantages and a special tax system with exemptions. The income and profit may be transferred to any state without a previous approval, taxation, customs fees or other fees.
