Petition Launched Requiring First BG Subway Line to Cover KCS, Prokop and Settlements Along Ibar Main Road

The “Po meri metro” citizens’ association has launched an online petition requiring from the Belgrade authorities, on behalf of the signed citizens, to have a leg of the first subway line built from the Zarkovo station in Trgovacka Street to Petlovo Brdo, along the neighborhoods Cerak, Cerak-Vinogradi, Vidikovac, Labudovo Brdo and Petlovo Brdo, to have the first BG Subway line go across the Belgrade Center railway station and the Clinical Center of Serbia (KCS) and to be transparent in making decisions on the setting of the fist subway line.

The request to have the neighborhoods of Cerak, Cerak-Vinogradi, Vidikovac, Labudovo Brdo and Petlovo Brdo covered by the subway line is based, as they say, “on all the previous subway plans from 1976, based on which said neighborhoods were developed in the first place.” The request to have the first subway line cover KCS and Prokop, they point out, is based on “the officially proposed option for the first subway line within the General Regulation Plan of Rail Systems in Belgrade with elements of the further development for Phase 1 of the first subway line from the early public review from February 2020.”
