Grundfos to Build New Production Facility in Indjija – Investment Worth EUR 20 Million

The foundation stone for the construction of a new production facility of Grundfos was laid down today.

The new facility will create the possibility of increasing the number of 900 workers, which is how many the Danish company employs at the moment.

The ceremony was attended by the Serbian prime minister, Ana Brnabic, and the president of the municipality of Indjija, Vladimir Gak. Brnabic first visited the existing production facility. The main products are the heating and air-conditioning pumps, as well as pumps for water supply, waste waters and dosage pumps.

Also, two years ago, a new, improved waste water management facility was opened.

– More than EUR 500 million of direct investments arrived to Indjija. When I said that Indjija would be the biggest construction site in Srem, it might have sounded pretentious to some, but this is a new EUR 20 million and 20,000 m2 of a production facility – pointed out Vladimir Gak, the president of the Municipality of Indjija.

Branbic also claimed that Indjija was one of the best European locations for investments.

– With this investment, Grundfos is exceeding the number of 1,000 employees and becoming the third biggest Grundfos factory in the world. The competition was enormous, but the employees here did a lot. It is you who made this new investment possible, the fact that the company is expanding here and not elsewhere. For Grundfos, it’s as if coronavirus never existed, because the production and the exports in 2020 were bigger than in 2019 – the prime minister said.
