He said that the plan, whose value matches a third of the gross domestic product of the Western Balkans Six, would have no effect unless the region was united.
– The implementation is crucial now: we are ready with IPA-III, it’s important for the region to be ready as well. The economic-investment plan will not have an effect if the economies of the Western Balkans don’t work as one. The plan will only be successful if the region “delivers” the Single Regional Market, an important project that was launched last year – Varhelyi said on Twitter.
He added that this “needs to be seen” at the upcoming summit within the Berlin Process.
– If the Single Regional Market becomes the reality, both the citizens and the economy will benefit from it – Varhelyi said.
On June 10, a meeting of the leaders of the Western Balkans was held, with Varhelyi attending and Serbia represented by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.
