The Property Directorate of the Republic of Serbia has opened the tender for the preparation of the technical documentation for the modernization of the Nestin border checkpoint.

According to the technical specifications of the procurement, the Detailed Regulation Plan of this border checkpoint between Serbia and Croatia, located in the Nestin settlement in the Municipality of Backa Palanka, entails the reconstruction and construction of new facilities for the purpose of increasing the intensity of passenger and cargo transport.

– Currently, the users of the border checkpoint space, members of the police force and the Customs Administration, carry out the border control activities in an inadequate space, with inadequate capacities and quality of the facilities (container facilities) and an insufficient flow through the existing traffic routes.

The plan envisages the construction of a specially canopied and fenced off space for a detailed examination of the vehicles (with a tool house and a canal for the examination of the vehicles), with three parking spaces, as well as public toilets for the passengers, considering that only an outhouse is available at the moment.

Furthermore, in the zone of the passenger-customs terminal, control cabins of the police force and the Customs Administration, a control facility with a room for the border control of the passengers and the buses and a room for a more detailed check of the persons and the luggage, a facility for the purposes of border control and check, passenger-customs control (a canopy) and control cabins for the police force and the Customs Administration (entrance-exit) are planned.

The estimated value of the preparation of the technical documentation is RSD 10 million without the VAT, and bids may be sent by June 22.
