Aqua-park, drinking water, trade and business center in Budva within 2 years

Newly appointed manager in Municipality of Budva, Aleksandar Tičić, announced that three capital projects should be realized in Budva within next two years, which would make this city the real tourism metropole.

The first of the big capital projects, said Tičić, would be construction of large aqua park whose construction should start at the beginning of February 2006.

Having in mind that Budva is the most attractive city at the seaside, the plan is that the aqua-park be built through joint investment with a Spanish company. The location for aqua-park is on hill Topliš above Budva, 3 km away from the city. Aqua-park should have 60,000 square meters.

Tičić said that the second big project was construction of special unit that would solve the problem with the shortage of water at the Budva riviera.

“Knowing that water supply is one of the biggest problems in Budva and that the construction of hotel capacities is in its prime, the present shortage of water equalls to about 100 l/sec. The only solution for Budva, having in mind that construction of regional water supply system takes few years, is installation of unit for reversible osmosis, which turns salted water into fresh water”, said Tičić.

The head manager said that the construction of big trade and business center in very center of Budva, on the location of present parking lot, accross the road from the existing trade center, was in the pipeline. It is the joint investment with certain company from abroad. “According to the plans, underground garages will be built beneath the trade center, whereas the business center will encompass boutiques, cinema, galleries, library, theater, depending on space”, said Tičić.

He made conclusion that all three projects could be realized within next two years.
