The City of Kikinda has advertised the public presentation of the urban planning project for the construction of a biogas facility in Basaid near Kikinda.

The investor is the Basaid-based company Kipetrol d.o.o, and the plan was prepared by Studio Urbana from Kikinda.

The biogas facility of a capacity of 999 kWel is being built within the cow farm, as part of the existing agricultural complex.

The facility will be based on a system of anaerobic digestion, through the preparation of biomass (manure, corn silage and harvest detritus), the production of biogas and the production of electrical energy.

According to the project, the aim of the facility is to produce electricity for the supply of the public distribution network, whereas the heating energy produced as a by-product is to be used for the farm’s needs.

The total amount of biomass to be produced at the biogas power plant will amount to 20,000 tons a year.
