Prices of PCR Tests for Residents and Non-residents Equalized – Everyone to Pay RSD 9,000

The prices of PCR tests in Serbia for residents and non-residents are to be equalized, the government announced. Epidemiologist and member of the COVID-19 Crisis Response Team Predrag Kon announced that this was a form of support to tourism.

Until now, foreigners would pay RSD 18,000, and from now on, the price for everyone will be RSD 9,000, which is what the residents of Serbia paid.

The secretary of the Association for Tourism of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), Tijana Maljkovic, said that the decision of the Crisis Response Team to lower the price of PCR testing for foreigners would contribute to the inflow of tourists during the Easter holidays and the upcoming spring, for which arrivals from Arab countries have been announced.

– Tourist workers have pointed out that the price of the PCR test deters foreign tourists from coming to Serbia, as they need to be tested in our country in order to go back home – the CCIS says in a press release.

Representatives of the Group of Travel Agencies and the Group of Hotels of Serbia pointed to the great interest from tourists for arriving to Serbia from Bahrain, following the visit of their delegation to Serbia, as well as from other Arab countries, especially after the end of the Ramadan fasting, in mid-May.

At the same session, the Belgrade Marathon, supposed to be held in June, was discussed as well. The decision is that the preparations for the competition part can start and that everything else depends on how the situation develops.
