The local media report the statement of an unnamed official of the Ministry of Tourism of Greece, who emphasizes that it is a matter of preparation and gradual opening for the tourist season, which officially begins on May 14.
According to his statement published by the Iefemerida portal, the mandatory seven-day quarantine for all passengers arriving from the EU, USA, United Kingdom, Serbia, Israel, the United Arab Emirates, is expected to be lifted as of Monday, and they will be able to travel, not only through Athens and Thessaloniki airports, but also through Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes, Kos, Mykonos, Santorini and Corfu and through the two land border crossings Evzonoi and Promahonas.
Travelers from those countries will not go into quarantine if they have proof that they have received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine, or show a negative PCR test. Apparently, this will only apply to vaccines recognized by the EU until bilateral agreements on the recognition of other vaccines enter into force. As for Serbia, an agreement on mutual recognition of digital certificates with Greece should be signed by the end of the month.
