The Social-Economic Council today considered the situation when it comes to negotiations about collective agreements.

Members of the Social-Economic Council, the president of the branch trade union association UGS Nezavisnost, Zoran Stojiljkovic, and the vice president of the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia, Goran Milic, assessed that collective agreements existed in the areas where the state is the employer, whereas, in the production-private sector, they only existed in activities related to roads.

Milic estimated that the problem was with the regulations which define that the Serbian Association of Employers, as a social partner in the Social-Economic Council, needs 51% to be able to sign collective agreements in certain fields.

He pointed out that, in the upcoming period, the Labor Law should be amended so that the percentage that the Serbian Association of Employers needs for negotiations and signing of collective agreements would be reduced to a realistic level.
