According to the tender, the works include the construction of a two-way main gas interconnector MG10 Nis-Dimitrovgrad in the territory of Serbia, between the natural gas systems of Serbia and Bulgaria, as well as the construction of four measuring-regulation stations and accompanying facilities.
The gas pipe will be around 109 km long, with a DN700 size and a pressure of 55 bars.
According to the text of the tender, the price is not the only criterion for getting the job, and all the criteria are listed in the procurement documentation which is available for free at this address: https://etendering.ted.europa.eu/cft/cft-display.html?cftId=7908
The agreement validity period is limited to 637 days, and after the initial agreement is signed based on this tender, it is possible to contract additional work with the selected contractor through a negotiation procedure without a previous notification about the contract, up to the estimated value of EUR 20 million, the tendering documentation says.
Bids are submitted at the Sector’s address, in English, no later than June 15 at 3 PM, and the opening of the bids is scheduled for June 22 at noon at the premises of the Sector.
Other details of the tender can be found HERE.
Let us remind that the opening of the tender for the public construction of the gas interconnection Serbia-Bulgaria was announced by the Ministry of Mining and Energy in late February.
It was said at the time that the tender would open after all the approvals by the competent European institutions are obtained, including the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The plan is for the works on the construction of the gas pipeline to begin in 2021 and for it to become operational in 2023.
The planned capacity of the gas pipeline is 1.8 billion cubic meters.
The estimated value of the investment is EUR 85.5 million and it is financed from the pre-accession funds of the EU and the proceeds from the EIB loan, whereas the remaining funds are to be provided by Serbia and the PE Srbijagas.
The idea of the construction of a gas interconnection for the purpose of diversification of the routes and the suppliers of gas is nearly three decades old, and the agreement on the construction of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad gas pipeline was signed back in 2010.
