(Božidar Laganin)
Former Director of the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA), Vesna Perić, submitted on Monday, May 31, an irrevocable letter of resignation from that position. She stated that seven years in the agency had been enough, and that she wished to look for new challenges, primarily in the economy sector. The Government of Serbia accepted her resignation at today's (June 3, 2010) meeting and appointed Božidar Laganin, former State Secretary in the Ministry of Telecommunications and IT Society, as the new Director of SIEPA.
- With my work and with the assistance of flawless professionals employed with the Agency, I managed to bring this institution to professional perfection, so that it won't be hard for the new director to keep making equally good results - it is stated in the resignation letter. Also, in order for her leave to be felt as little as possible in the functioning of the Agency, the agreement is that Ms. Perić helps the new director in the transient period, that is, prior to autumn.
Before he started working in the Ministry of Telecommunications, Božidar Laganin had also been employed with SIEPA, first as a foreign investment adviser, and then as a special assistant to the director. He knows the field of work of the Agency, as well as most people from the team he is going to lead.
