Paying for fuel and all other products and services in cryptocurrencies is available at 46 Tifon gas stations in Croatia, through the PayCek platform.

The gas stations accept bitcoin, ether, stellar, ripple and EOS, and the service is available since February 2, 2021, adds the press release of the owner of the platform, Electrocoin, as reported by the indicator.ba portal.

– If a person buys fuel for 400 kunas (52.9 euros) and wants to pay in a cryptocurrency, at the moment we inform Tifon trough PayCek that the payment has been processed, Tifon gets its 400 kunas and we at Electrocoin fully process the cryptocurrency transaction – Nikola Skoric, the director of Electrocoin, explains how a payment using digital money is made.

Electrocoin is an innovative Croatian fintech company, founded in 2014, which does cryptocurrency exchange activities and payment transactions in cryptocurrencies. One of its business partners is the Croatian Post, which implemented cryptocurrency payments in 2019 in 55 of its offices. Another partner is the Croatian town of Sveta Nedelja, which enables its residents to pay their bills using virtual money.
