The mayor of Belgrade, Zoran Radojicic, has talked to the director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, Goran Stevanovic, about the assessment of the offered solutions for the location of the clinic’s new building in Belgrade, Beoinfo reports.

– It’s important to consider everything now, from the position of the clinic, the potential capacities of the building in the proposed location, to an easy and quick connection to a traffic route, so as to be able to transport the patients as quickly as possible. That is why we are fully dedicated to this part of the job for Tirsova 2 and now also for the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, but also, in cooperation with Health Minister Zoran Loncar, for the General Urban Plan of the entire area of the Clinical Center of Serbia. We are analyzing the project of the axis route, the future traffic routes and other infrastructure, so as to define the frameworks and possibilities of the development of the Clinical Center of Serbia on time, and with that the construction of the new Clinic for Infectious Diseases as well – Radojicic said.

Stevanovic emphasized that the second meeting with the mayor and his team had been held very quickly after the first one, to the end of solving a large problem, now over 70 years old.

– The problem pertains to the fact that the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, which is part of the Clinical Center of Serbia, was built back in 1926 and that it has been located in the same facilities since then. These facilities, even with all the reconstructions, unfortunately, no longer meet the organizational and spatial standards of modern infectiology. Today, we looked into the solutions for location-related challenges of the construction of a new building of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, as part of the great effort, the results of which should last for the next 50 years. The meeting was successful, numerous questions are now open and we have started solving them – Stevanovic pointed out.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Office for Public Investment Management, the Secretariat for Urban Planning of the City of Belgrade and the Urban Planning Institute, so that the proposed option would be analyzed from the position of the General Urban Plan of the City of Belgrade.
