New Set of Measures for Economy and Citizens May Include Unemployment Aid

Some kind of support for the unemployed is being considered as part of the preparation of the new set of measures of aid to the economy and the citizens, the Ministry of Finance of Serbia confirmed for Tanjug today.

Support for the unemployed is yet to be defined, the ministry says.

When it comes to the aid for the employed, over a million people might get two or three times the amount of half the minimum wage, that is, 32,000 to 48,000 dinars.

Potential additional support to the citizens, if necessary, is also being considered. In 2020, it took the form of a one-off payment of EUR 100 to all citizens of legal age.

– By February 15, an additional economy stimulus package should be defined. We are now doing the final analyses to the end of properly directing the money, so that people who need help would get it – Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali told Tanjug earlier.
