Gold Gondola on Zlatibor to Open on January 14

Gold Gondola in Zlatibor will be put into operation on Monday, January 11, whereas the official opening ceremony is to take place on Thursday, January 14, according to a press release issued by the Municipality of Cajetina. Five years from the beginning of the works, one of the most important capital investments of the Municipality of Cajetina will welcome its first passengers, which is a great day not just for Zlatibor, but for the entire Serbia, the press release says.

During the first two days of the operations of the gondola, the residents of Cajetina, required to provide only an ID card, as well as all those who provide their thank-you note for taking part in the Zlatibor “moba” (communal work), get a free ride.

– To us, this year has acted as an incentive to finish all the capital investments, which either took five years, like the gondola, or were started three years ago, some a year ago, and some six months ago, such as the reconstruction of the King’s Square and the lake in the very center of Zlatibor – said Milan Stamatovic, thanking all well-meaning people, his associates, members of the municipal parliament, producers of equipment and all investors who put money into Zlatibor, and which was directed by the municipality to the construction of the gondola and all other capital projects.

– The number of tourists on Zlatibor will increase thanks to the gondola, and we aim to have a million visitors in a period of some five years, which automatically means ten million overnight stays, which means extra profit for Zlatibor residents, for investors, and of course for the budget of the Republic of Serbia and the budget of the Municipality of Cajetina – Stamatovic concluded.
