United Serbian Breweries to invest EUR 19m in 2010
Company United Serbian Breweries, a member of Heineken Group, announced today (May 4, 2010) that it would invest EUR 19m in the business in Serbia in 2010.
According to the announcement, investing in Serbia will be resumed in spite of the fact that tax and excise increase, drop in people's purchasing power and the effects of the economic crisis have significantly contributed to lower beer sales in Serbian market.
- United Serbian Breweries will fulfill the promise and the investments during the first three year of its operations in Serbia will total EUR 50m - said CEO Francois Xavier.
He said that EUR 15m had been invested in modernization of expansion of operations in Serbian market in 2009, which was the first whole business year for United Serbian Breweries.
- An imperative for United Serbian Breweries is constant improvement of standards of business and production, so that the company introduced ISO standards - ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 18000 (OHSAS), ISO 22000, in both of its breweries, in Novi Sad and Zaječar, for that purpose - it stated in the announcement.
