The Draft Detailed Regulation Plan for the business zone Stajkovce and Glozane is up for public review in the Municipality of Vlasotince from tomorrow. As Marinko Djordjevic, the head of the Department for Urban Planning and Economy of the Municipality of Vlasotince, said for eKapija, this is an area of 60 hectares, which will be equipped for investors as an extension of the existing industrial zone at the entrance to the town.

– Around ten local and foreign companies already operate in the industrial zone, among which are, for example, the Leskovac-based brick factory Mladost and the Italian textile factory Gruppo Fiorentino. The municipality is now expanding the business zone, among other things because there’s an interest from investors in the expansion of the production. Some of them have expressed an intention to build new facilities, such as, for example, two automotive companies that already operate here, the German Gruner and the Slovenian Elrad – Djordjevic says.

He adds that the municipality has included plans from interested investors in the planning documentation of the business zone Stajkovce and Glozane and that, once the adoption of the plan is finished, there will be a basis for the issuing of building permits for the construction of new facilities.

Of the local producers, our interviewee says, for now, local agriculturists have expressed an intention for expanding their business to fruit and vegetable processing.

When it comes to the infrastructure, the Municipality of Vlasotince, which adopted the next year’s budget worth RSD 912.8 million two days ago, according to Djordjevic, plans investments in the construction of a sewer and waste water treatment system, the expansion of the waste management capacities, but also the tourism infrastructure.

– Next year, the plan is to build the sewer system for the suburban areas and larger villages in the plains section of the municipality. Also, the project documentation for the construction of the waste water treatment facility is being prepared at the moment, and the project documentation for the construction of smaller collectors for sewage is being planned as well. We will also expand the scope of the collection and removal of waste to include the nearby villages – Djordjevic says.

Our interviewee adds that the municipality will also deal with the issue of developing the coastal area of the river Vlasina. Accordingly, next year’s plans include the development of a beach on the artificial lake and the construction of public toilets and other side features, the project for which has already been prepared.
