PE Srbijagas to Become JSC by May 1, 2021

The Ministry of Mining and Energy has formed the working group for the monitoring of the reorganization plan of Srbijagas, which entails a total of 29 activities aiming for this public enterprise to become a joint-stock company by May 1, the ministry told Tanjug.

The working group will control the process of reformation, but also help Srbijagas carry out its plan.

The reorganization plan, entails, primarily, the separation of the activities of transport and distribution of gas between Srbijagas and Transportgas and Distribucijagas Srbija, as well as their licensing for these activities.

On December 10, the Government of Serbia adopted the reorganization plan of Srbijagas, which, according to the ministry, marks the beginning of the reformation and modernization of the gas sector of Serbia.

The execution of that plan will create conditions for a stable and secure supply with gas, as well as much more efficient and profitable operations of gas companies, which is also important for the infrastructural projects that are being realized, the Ministry of Mining and Energy told Tanjug.
