Spanish Agricultural Technology to be Presented to Serbian Producers at Expo Online Agriculture

The Economic Department of the Embassy of Spain in Belgrade and the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) are presenting the most advanced Spanish agricultural technology to the Serbian audience for the fifth year in a row, this time in an online format, at Expo Online Agriculture. At the virtual booth of Spain, you can find the offer of six companies which are showcasing their innovative solutions to Serbian agricultural producers and which are available for B2B and B2C meetings:

- SEMILLAS FITO – crop and vegetable seeds

- TRADECORP – plant feeding and protection products

- RKD – pivot irrigation systems

- NOVAGRIC – solutions for growing in a protected space

- INVERCA – solutions for growing in a protected space

- CRIADO y LOPEZ – agritextile and crop protection nets.

The statistical data show that Spain is one of the leading agricultural producers in Europe and the world. It’s interesting that a large part of the production is concentrated in the parts of the country whose climate (long periods of drought, lack of water) and the quality of soil do not make for a favorable farming environment, let alone for these kinds of results. The answer, of course, lies in the implementation of adequate technology and good production organization.

The to the end of deepening the cooperation and exchange of experiences, during the fair, the Economic Department will organize:

On December 16, at 2.30 pm, in cooperation with the UN FAO, the webinar called Strategy of Irrigation of the Republic of Serbia and the Spanish Model of Association of Water Users will present the progress made in the preparation of the Irrigation Strategy, supported by the UN FAO and the EBRD. As the association of users is one of the important aspects of development and functioning of the irrigation system, a representative of the Spanish Federation of Users of Irrigation Systems will present their model of functioning and the role the associations play for their members.

On December 17, at 1 pm, in cooperation with the Association for Promotion of Serbian Food, a panel discussion called Cooperative or Delusion – The Current State and the Market Potentials of Cooperatives, which will feature representatives of Serbian cooperatives and active participants in the ecosystem of cooperatives in Serbia, as well as the technical director of the Association of Cooperatives of Spain. At the panel, the participants will try to answer some of the questions: What is the situation like in Serbian cooperatives and what is it like in Spanish ones? Are cooperatives in Serbia making progress? What is the situation on site and what are the main reasons for forming cooperatives in Serbia? Why are Spanish cooperatives in the food sector developed more than those in Serbia? Which good things from Spain can we implement in Serbia? How do modern cooperatives function? How are cooperatives fighting the COVID crisis? Are cooperatives competitive in the market?
