The works will begin next year, Mali said after the signing of the agreement at the Government of Serbia. Hargitai announced that the first tender for the contractor would open in December.
The loan is meant to finance the construction of the first section, from Nis to Plocnik, 33 kilometers long.
The second agreement on the implementation of the project was signed by Serbian Construction Minister Tomislav Momirovic, the director of the Corridors of Serbia, Aleksandar Antic, and Zsuzsanna Hargitai.
The Serbia section of the so-called Peace Highway, the section from Nis to Merdare, will be 77 kilometers long.
Corridor 10 and the new highway will connect near Nis, which is supposed to enable Serbia’s access to the Albanian ports on the Adriatic Sea and enable a better connection between 500,000 people.
The length of the Nis-Durres highway, whose section from Pristina is already built, is 383 kilometers.
