Farmakom MB invested 7m EUR in Lece mine - ceremonious opening on April 8
Šabac-based concern Farmakom MB announced that it would ceremoniously open Lece mine in Medveđa on Thursday, April 8, exactly at noon. So far, 7m EUR have been invested in reconstruction of the mine, in which total of 300 miners will be employed in phases. The mine will be opened by Serbian President Boris Tadić.
The equipment from abroad have been imported for unit Flotacija, while cable railway, crushing machines and other vital parts in units Jama in Lece and Flotacija in village Gazdare have been reconstructed. In these units, crude ore is transported in baskets and by means of cable railway to be processed into lead-zinc concentrate, which is in very high demand in the global market.
The projected annual production in mine Lece is 230,000 tons of lead-zinc ore, which should give 450 kg of gold, 3 t of silver, 3.2 t of lead and 12,000 t of zinc. The ore will be processed in Zaječar and Šabac.
The mine was bought in 2000 by Farmakom MB for 190m EUR.
