Most Beautiful Wine Poem Contest Lasts Until October 31

The event “Mackov dan mladog portugizera”, dedicated to wine, poetry, culture and love, is being held this year as well, and a contest for the most beautiful wine poem will also be held on that occasion.

The contest is realized in cooperation with Srpska Citaonica in Irig, the oldest reading institution in these areas. It was founded in 1842 and played a great role in preserving the culture and tradition in Irig and its area.

Poems may be sent until October 31. The condition is for wine to be the topic of the poem, and all other details can be found on the official web page of the organizer or at Srpska Citaonica in Irig.

The jury, consisting of Todor Bjelkic, writer and jury president, Maja Plavsic, literature professor, Vera Novkovic, the director of Srpska Citaonica, Zlatko Zrilic, Sremske Novine, and Djurdjica Jojic of Mackov Podrum, will choose three poems to be awarded.

The winners will be pronounced at the event, the date and place of which will be announced subsequently.

Mackov Podrum is a winery from Irig, very dedicated to traditional values, which is now operated by the sixth generation of winemakers.
