At a session of the Managing Board in Tirana, held on October 5, the Western Balkans Six Chamber Investment Forum (WB6 CIF) established the Business Council, which will monitor the removal of obstacles to more successful business within the region and with the EU on behalf of the 400,000 companies gathered by the joint regional chamber and regularly inform the governments in the Western Balkans of this, proposing measures which would facilitate business and reduce costs for companies. The representatives of six regional chambers, members of the WB6 CIF, were hosted by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, followed by a conversation with Albanian Minister of Finance and Economy Anila Denaj, the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS) announced.

– By founding the Business Council, which consists of owners and managers of 16 large business systems, which have companies and business operations in the entire region, we will ensure an even more active participation of the business community in building a joint regional market and a single investment destination in the Western Balkans and establishing stronger regional economic relations – Marko Cadez, the president of the CCIS and the WB6 CIF, said in Tirana.

The members of the new Business Council are prominent business people, regional business leaders, from all six WB economies and nearly all production and service sectors, representatives of large business systems: Albanian – BALFIN, Agna and Infosoft Group; Bosnian – MS Wood, Sarajevski Kiseljak and Mikroelektronika; Kosovar – Devoli Corporation and Albi Group; Montenegrin – Voli, Trebjesa and Portonovi; Macedonian – Alkaloid and M6/Tikves; and Serbian – Elixir Group, Nelt and Milsped.

According to Cadez, the Business Council will be the advisory body of the joint regional chamber and its strong support in representing the interests and propositions of the business communities before the governments of the region.
