Official talks between the delegation of the Republic of Serbia and the IMF mission began today with the plenary virtual meeting. The delegation of the Republic of Serbia was led by NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković, who also serves as the Serbian Governor to the IMF, and the IMF mission was led by Jan Kees Martijn. Finance Minister Siniša Mali and his associates also participated in the talks, the NBS announced.

The talks with the IMF mission will last until October 16 as part of the last, fifth semi-annual review of Serbia’s economic program supported by the Policy Coordination Instrument (PCI). Approved in July 2018 for a period of 30 months, the PCI is an advisory instrument and does not involve any disbursement of funds.

Current fiscal, monetary and overall macroeconomic developments will be discussed, including the implementation and efficiency of economic policy measures taken amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the outlook and projections for the period ahead. The status of attainment of the targets set for monitoring the PCI-supported program will also be considered.
