Soon hotel and post office - five locations in Niš's downtown sold

At the first auction for sale of building land in Niš, which took place on March 19th, five locations in an exclusive part of the city were sold, while the most expensive square meter cost 25,000 RSD and was paid for by Niš-based Agrohim for the parcel in Skopljanska Street where a hotel, a post office, a cafe and a congress hall are planned to be built.

Total of 13 companies participated in the auction, and the most exciting bidding was for the location at the address of 1 Vizantijski Boulevard whose starting price was 7m RSD and it was sold for nearly twice as much. All companies that won at the auction on March 19th rented the land on 99 years. Goran Mraović, the Manager of Colliers, which was the mediator between the buyers and the city, estimated that the auction had been successful.

- The result of this auction is that Niš will become a big building site in about two months when the companies should start construction. The consequence of the today's sale is employment of hundreds of people in Niš during construction and later, when the facilities are put in operation. The price of 250 EUR per square meter for Niš is an excellent sum - Mraović explained.

He said that the second auction, for the location of Donje Međurovo, was schedulled for April 6th. Building lot Lozni Kalem has not entered the auction procedure yet due to unresolved ownership relations.

- A big residential complex will be built in the location of Duvanište 3, while Vizantijski Boulevard is the place for a business facility. Similar will be the purpose of the location at the address of 3 Vizantijski Boulevard, but the business center will have one instead of two floors. According to the land-utilization plan, a production-storage space is planned to be built in Work zone Sever - Mraović explained.

Jakov Abraham, a representative of Israeli Immo Real, bought the location of Duvanište 3 on March 19th.

- We are going to build apartments whose size will range between 40 and 80 square meters, depending on the project. The surface of the base of the whole residential complex will be 10,000 square meters. I trust the local self-government to be able to meet our requests during our stay in Niš, and it is for sure that we are going to hire workers from this city for the project - said Jakov.
