(Nikola Hajdin)
- The bridge constructors from Serbia, academic Nikola Hajdin and Ilija Stojadinović, are included in the list of 43 most significant constructors from the USA and Europe in monograph "Philosophy of Bridge Architecture in America and Europe", which has been published in China - Serbian Academy of Science and Arts (SANU) announced yesterday (March 11, 2010).
Richly illustrated monograph, of which authors are Vang Ying Ling and Zong Yu Bian, includes 300 works of selected constructors of American and European bridges in the last 200 years.
Hajdin and Stojadinović are members of this elite company and they are represented through their most significant and innovative works. The monograph includes presentation of Stojadinović's solutions for bridges on Pag, Krk and in Šibenik and Hajdin's plans for bridges Orašje, which connects Orašje and Županja across the Sava, Sloboda in Novi Sad, new railway bridge across the Sava in Belgrade and the bridge across the Visla in Plock, in Poland.
People in SANU are of the opinion that the fact that two of our constructors are included in the list of 43 selected constructors in America and Europe represents a great recognition for Serbian science and civil engineering, especially because it comes from China that experiences economic and commercial growth and has one of the leading roles on global stage.
