EUR 101.3 Million for Construction of Brajici Wind Farm – Electricity for More Than 50,000 Households

(Illustration) The Brajici Wind Farm in Montenegro will produce around 220 GWh of pure electric energy a year, enough for over 50,000 households, as announced during the signing of the Agreement on the Lease of State Land for the purposes of the construction of that wind farm.
The agreement, whose value is EUR 101.3 million, was signed by Economy Minister Dragica Sekulic and Zoran Obradovic on behalf of the WPD Brajici consortium.
Sekulic said that, carefully following the events in modern energy sector and paying attention to the reactions of the best actors, the government is among the first in Europe to recognize that the technological conditions and market conditions alike are ripe enough for the financial stimulation of investments in RES to stop.
Obradovic said that he was proud that, as a global and powerful company, with gigawatts of realized wind farms realized and billions of euros invested, WPD had shown readiness to enter a project that would not be developed without state incentives, guaranteed premium prices, on market foundations.
He said that the model proposed by the Government of Montenegro was the most modern in the region, that it followed European trends and enabled safe investments.
The Brajici Wind Farm, he said, will have over 100 MW.
