The local company 365 ADS has developed mask dispensers meant for outdoor areas, which will soon be installed in front of shopping malls in Belgrade, and, if needed, in other cities in Serbia as well.

As the company's director, Nikola Vucicevic, says for our portal, these are the so-called “mask-o-matic” devices.

– They work like vending machines, where a certain amount of money you put in buys you a certain number of masks. For now, they will be installed in front of shopping centers, as there are lots of people there and the wearing of masks in indoor areas is still mandatory – Vucicevic says for eKapija.

Recently, this company installed a similar device at the Belgrade Airport. In addition to masks, this device provides cleaning alcohol and gloves.

– The device installed at the airport, which is by the way the most modern machine of its kind in Europe, is voice-controlled, so the entire purchase process is contactless. The devices that are to be installed in front of shopping malls are a little different and are meant for outdoor areas. They have “a spacey concept” and a mechanism adjusted to dispensing only masks. In cities like New York and Singapore, such devices are installed at subway and bus stations as well – Vucicevic says.

When asked if this is possible in Serbia as well, Vucicevic points out that the company certainly aims to cover other towns and municipalities and all public areas.

– Here, since there's no subway, we can do it at bus stations, both in Belgrade and in other cities. But this requires a public-private partnership, so we will act in line with the needs of the cities – Vucicevic says.

Expansion to foreign markets

To the end of suppressing the spreading of coronavirus, the company's young team was supported this March by the Innovation Fund in its project of disinfection booths.

When it comes to the upcoming plans, the 365 ADS team is currently developing a disinfection device for contactless disinfection of hands.

– Two prototypes were developed and they have been tested in the past weeks, so they are ready for distribution – Vucicevic says.

One of the company's goals is to distribute these devices to the foreign markets as well.

– There's already plenty of interest from abroad. I hope that our devices will become available abroad in two to three months – Vucicevic says.
