Zlatibor Accommodation Occupancy Rate at Over 95%

There are currently over 25,000 guests on Zlatibor, and the accommodation occupancy rate is over 95%, said the director of the Tourism Organization of Zlatibor, Vladimir Zivanovic.

– There's more interest in village households, nature accommodation, vacation houses, fresh air and nature – he said at the online conference “Tourism in the Region in the Year Eaten by Coronavirus”.

As he pointed out, the biggest challenge was to create awareness among people that the destination is safe, and a lot has been invested in digital marketing too.

This season, there's a greater occupancy of the private sector, and it's difficult to count the guests, as numerous household still operate within the black market and therefore do not keep evidence.

– We compare the occupancy through the number of tickets sold. Stopica Cave is one example and it is certain that the number of visitors is drastically higher than last year – he said.

The hotels have adapted the capacities to meet the safety measures, and 90% of the guests are from Serbia, with a certain number from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
