The beginning of the works in the first phase of the reconstruction of the Parmenac-Katrga canal, of the total length of 24 kilometers, is expected by the end of the current month, announced the mayor of Cacak, Milun Todorovic.

On his Facebook profile, he reminded that this investment, worth around EUR 5.7 million, had been announced by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic the day before, saying that Cacak was one of the local self-governments where the reconstruction of irrigation canals was to begin.

– This marked the official announcement of the beginning of the works on the reconstruction of the main irrigation canal, with side structures, of the length of 5,350 meters, in the area between the Parmenac dam and the city of Cacak, and the construction of a new distribution irrigation network in the area of Prijevor and Trbusani, which covers an agricultural area of around 380 hectares – Todorovic said.
