First Tender for Fourth Bridge in Novi Sad in Early 2021 – Task Force Formed

The City of Novi Sad has formed the Task Force for the construction of a bridge in the extension of Evrope Blvd, through Sodros, and this project is of special importance for the Republic of Serbia, as confirmed by the decision adopted by the Government of Serbia.

After the completion of the preparation of the General Project, in the upcoming weeks, the aim of the City of Novi Sad is for all activities to be organized so that the public invitation for the preparation of the Preliminary Design and the Preliminary Project opens by the beginning of the next year. The plan is to open a single tendering procedure for the design and construction, which should accelerate the realization, but also harmonize the design with the construction technology itself.

– One of the strategic goals of the City of Novi Sad is for all activities on the construction of the new bridge to be carried out within the next five to six years, in which maximum resources and capacities will be invested from the beginning of the realization of this project – it is said on the city's website.

Members of the Task Force are representatives of the Government of Serbia, representatives of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, representatives of the City, but also eminent professors from the Faculty of Technical Sciences and representatives from the field. The Task Force is to carry out all the activities toward the realization of a project of the construction of the new bridge.

As a priority, the Task Force is to actively organize all the activities and participants in the process and monitor the development of the realization of the project. The City of Novi Sad intends to provide realistic, but also the shortest possible, deadlines, so that the city could realize another project of international importance.

Let us remind that the conceptual framework of the General Regulation Plan of the bridge in the extension of Evrope Blvd in Novi Sad was put up for early public review in early July.

As the director of the PE Urbanizam, Dusan Miladinovic, said for eKapija earlier, the construction might start in the next several years, and the estimated value is around RSD 15 billion.

The bridge will be 2.4 kilometers long and 31 meters wide above the water. It will feature two lanes in each direction, with a traffic island in the middle and cycling and pedestrian lanes of two meters each on both sides.
