Over 70 products from various fields, from chemical and pharmaceutical industry, to food industry, have been applied for the watermark so far.
– The “Created in Serbia” campaign and the “Housekeeper” watermark aim to support domestic products and producers, while raising awareness among the consumers of the importance of buying domestic products. By raising awareness among the consumers about the importance of the purchase of quality, competitive products made in Serbia, we support the development of the local economy – said Mihailo Vesovic, the director of the Sector for Strategic Analyses, Services and Internationalization of the CCIS.
He also points out that foreign brands can have the same purpose, as the country of origin of the company's ownership is not a limiting factor. Instead, what's important is that the product meets the requirements pertaining to quality and origin of the resources. This means that such products are a part of the local community, as they use materials, raw ingredients, work, knowledge and creativity from Serbia.
– The “Created in Serbia” campaign comes at the right moment. The support to producers in promoting quality products made in Serbia will bring a new value for everyone in the chain, from the producer to the end consumer. We hope that Mlekara Sabac, with a tradition of 90 years, will be among the first ones to get the “Housekeeper” watermark, which confirms the dedication to the production of top-quality dairy products. All our products are made of local ingredients, high-quality milk which we buy from 700 producers in Serbia. Generations of people, most often from the same families, have worked in our team – says Milica Jelic of Mlekara Sabac.
The Belgrade-based company Beohemija praises the launching of the “Created in Serbia” campaign, and the Esensa company emphasizes that they were delighted to accept the new concept of the CCIS, which affirms the quality of the domestic production, as it is important to give an opportunity and support products created in Serbia based on local knowledge and resources, enthusiasm, effort and endeavors of domestic entrepreneurs.
– The new campaign of the CCIS, “Created in Serbia”, is important and necessary, as it promotes local producers and gives us an opportunity to get to the consumers better and more quickly, to successfully present our products, but also to reduce dependence on the imports – points out the founder and owner of Srpska Kuca Piva, Neven Eric.
All the companies that produce in Serbia and have quality products of domestic origin may apply for the watermark. The product must be made of at least 80% domestic resources – work and materials. The list of products eligible for the “Housekeeper” watermark is updated as the interest of the companies grows and in line with the objectives of this project. The process of obtaining the watermark takes 45 days. The right to use the “Housekeeper” watermark is given for a period of three years, with the possibility of re-certification.
