Another Seven Strategic Companies Waiting to be Sold

A total of seven privatization subjects of strategic importance remain in the privatization portfolio, according to the annual report on the operations of the Government of Serbia for 2019.

The deadline for being protected from enforced collection of payments and enforcement procedures for these companies expired on May 28, 2016, but the activities aiming to find the way for these privatization subjects of strategic importance to survive and for the jobs at these companies to be kept continued in 2019 as well, according to the part of the report pertaining to the activities of the Ministry of Economy.

Of the strategic companies, six companies have carried out activities toward the preparation of a Pre-pack Reorganization Plan (PPRP) or activities in line with the adopted PPRP (HIP – PETROHEMIJA a.d. Pancevo, HOLDING KABLOVI a.d. Jagodina, IKARBUS a.d. Beograd, POLITIKA a.d. Beograd, HK PK YUMCO a.d. Vranje, TRAYAL a.d. Krusevac), whereas the company JP PEU RESAVICA has carried out activities toward the preparation of a plan of reorganization and financial consolidation.

The company FAP KORPORACIJA a.d. Priboj was included among the members of the Defense Industry Group by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Serbia of December 30, 2019, and is consequently no longer in the group of privatization subjects of strategic importance, which is why the procedure of privatization of said company has been terminated.

Last year, five companies were sold for a total of EUR 13.6 million.
