Serbia is one of the rare countries for which the IMF has not revised the initial projection of the growth rate from March, the Presidency of Serbia announced.
– In the upcoming period, despite the negative consequences of the pandemic, this will contribute to a stable economic situation and a safe business environment in Serbia – Vucic said.
He added that a controlled growth of salaries and pensions would continue in 2021.
The head of the IMF Mission, Jan Kees Matrijn, and Vucic discussed the execution of the current arrangement, the Policy Coordination Instrument, as part of the semi-annual review of the meeting of program's goals.
As Vucic's cabinet, Martijn “praised the efforts of Vucic and the Government of Serbia and their responsible economic policy and successful management of the pandemic crisis, in all fields – from healthcare to the economy”.
