Construction of new main sewer in Belgrade, three years for construction

The Directorate for Building Land has decided to finance construction of main sewer called interceptor, which will collect wastewater from the central city system and take it to the future wastewater treatment and processing facilities "Veliko selo" downstream from Belgrade.

The starting point is pumping station "Ušće" wherefrom wastewater goes through water trap passage beneath the Sava, 1.5 km long, to Donjogradski Boulevard. According to the estimates of the experts, its construction will last three years.

Central system with the future interceptor covers about 50% of the city territory and over 70% of population.
