Brnabic said that, as the government's representative, she is not at all against the state financially helping the national airline company, which has suffered losses due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is said on the government's website.
She said that the air industry was the most affected by the pandemic and pointed out that the EU had said as well that it would relax the rules on state aid to airline carriers.
– If the EU and its states are to help their airline carriers financially, then, as the prime minister of Serbia, I don't have a problem with the Government of Serbia helping Air Serbia financially if necessary, because we saw during the pandemic how important that air company is for us – the prime minister said.
According to her, if it hadn't been for Air Serbia, we would not have been able to get all the necessary protective equipment, respirators, additional help and support on time.
Also, as she added, we would not be able to have all the humanitarian flights by which the citizens of Serbia were brought back to the country.
