Minister of Sea and Transportation, Andrija Lompar, announced lower prices in Port Bar
The Minister of Sea and Transportation of Montenegro, Andrija Lompar, estimated that there were chances for export of cereals from Serbia, which used to be exported via ports of Constanza, Rijeka and Kopar, via Port Bar at lower prices. According to his words, the decrease in price would depend on the quantity of wheat, but there is also space for correction.
- Cereals from Serbia are mainly exported via port Constanza where Serbian entrepreneurs have already rented silos and the port's capacities. However, there is a possibility of agreement on the price that Port Bar is going to offer. We have come to the conclusion that we can lower the prices, but they will depend on the quantity of cereals, that is, the freight's weight. In case the quantity is small, then there is very little space for decrease. Otherwise, if bigger quantities are guaranteed, minimum 500,000 tons, then we can offer the prices requested by the exporters from Serbia - Lompar explained and added:
- We are intensively negotiating with the Serbian Railways, as well as with both exporters and importers, in order to find some new model of organization that would make it possible for the clients who use that route to make arrangements with the two railways (Montenegrin and Serbian) and Port Bar within a simple procedure. Port Bar find the job of export of cereals from Serbia very important, the same as the creation of new opportunities for export of ore from Kosovo via Port Bar.
