Budget Deficit of Serbia in First Four Months RSD 114 Billion, Public Debt 52.4% of GDP

The budget deficit of Serbia in the first four months of the current year is RSD 114 billion, as the revenues were RSD 379.8 billion and expenditures RSD 493.8 billion, the Ministry of Finance announced today. In April, the deficit was RSD 67.1 billion, with the income of RSD 83.5 billion and the expenditures of RSD 150.5 billion.

Employee expenditures in April amounted to RSD 25.1 billion and the transfers pertaining to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, the National Health Insurance Fund, the National Employment Agency and the Social Security Fund for Military Personnel amounted to RSD 75.8 billion.

The subsidies amounted to 10.3 billion and the social protection was at 10.2 billion dinars.


At the level of the general state budget, in preliminary terms, in the January-April period, there was a fiscal deficit of RSD 109.2 billion and a primary fiscal deficit of RSD 55 billion.

The public debt of Serbia amounted to EUR 24.55 billion at the end of April, which is 52.4% of the estimated GDP for this year.

At the end of March, the public debt was at around EUR 24.31 billion, that is, 51.9% of the GDP.
