The workers of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia in Kragujevac have had their paid leave extended until June 12.

By then, the company will notify them whether the pause is to continue or whether they are to return to the factory, which is the system that is applied globally in the automotive industry.

The deputy president of the Autonomous Trade Union of Fiat in Kragujevac, Nebojsa Mandaric, told Beta that they had been notified that the paid leave was being extended due to the current situation and harmonization of the production with the needs and the demand of the market.

At the moment, it is not known when the production of the 500L model might be resumed.

The workers have been on a paid leave since March 16, and they've also used their old annual leave.

Two weeks ago, the Autonomous Trade Union confirmed that Fiat had asked the Ministry of Labor to approve an additional 80 days of a paid leave, considering that the factory in Kragujevac had used the 45 days proscribed by law under that premise.
