Elektroprivreda BiH Preparing Construction of Vlasic and Bitovlje Wind Farms

The acting director of Elektroprivreda BiH, Admir Andelija, said in his interview for Oslobodjenje that preparations for the construction of wind farms Vlasic and Bitovlje were in progress.

Elektroprivreda BiH has also started building the Podvelezje wind farm.

– In addition to the Podvelezje wind farm, activities toward the preparation of the construction of Vlasic and Bitovlje wind farms are in progress, and we also expect the beginning of the construction of small hydro power plants in the Neretvica basin. For us, a special challenge is to finally start working on the HPP on the Drina, the HPP Ustikolina, but also to try to find a solution for the construction of hydro power plants in the upper flow of the Neretva river through talks with the Government of FBiH and the local community – Andelija emphasized.

When it comes to the announced restructuring in the electric energy sector, Andelija emphasized that it was being carried out in three phases.

– The first has to do with dividing all activities in accountancy and management categories, which entails a legal division and forming of a new company – a distribution system operator. The second phase is commercialization and further analyses, and the third phase is corporatization, which is planned in the period of the next five years – Andelija added.
