CEO of Textile industry Branko Krsmanović from Paraćin, Ana Maj, announced the third tender for sale of that, once famous, domestic textile factory.

- The factory was bought by Sebastian Carbonare from Italy seven years ago, and Ana Maj, who was CEO at the time, became the owner in the meantime. She later said that the factory would be sold again - said Slavoljub Stojanović, the President of the Trade union of employees of Branko Krsmanović.

- Since October 19, 2009, 180 workers of the factory are on forced vacation, and we hoped that the production would start now and that the CEO would inform us when our late salaries would be paid - said Stojanović. - Instead, we were informed on January 21st that the factory would change the owner again and that its destiny depended on the success of that sale - he pointed out.

- This is one more in the series of unpleasant surprises - the representatives of workers point out and fear that the workers in the textile factory will lose their jobs, and that the future buyer may decide not to deal with production of fabrics.

The representatives of the Trade union say that the salaries, which are lower than the legal minimum, are late, and that the working conditions are catastrophic. There is no heating in the halls and drinking water in the factory, while even electricity was cut due to unpaid bills.
