Young beef for Montenegrin and Italian market - Pantomarket Stočar exported 8.3m EUR worth of goods in 2009
Čačak-based company Pantomarket Stočar has finished the equipping of new slaughterhouse according to HACCAP standards and put it in operation at the end of the last year. Thanks to that mid-size unit whose capacity is 100 heads of cattle or 150 pigs a day, this company can export meat to the countries other than neighboring ones.
- Total of 1.3m EUR was invested in this slaughterhouse and a small dairy in Zdravčići near Požega last year. The dairy`s capacity is 1,000 liters of milk per day, and it can only produce cheese and kajmak (milk cream), primarily for export to Montenegro - Slavko Đalović, CEO of Pantomarket Stočar, told Politika.
The line for primary meat processing was built in the location of Čačak`s old slaughterhouse, next to the farm in Mrčajevci, which is also owned by that company.
He said that Pantomarket Stočar had exported 8m EUR worth of meat to Montenegro in 2009, while another 300,000 EUR had been earned from the sale of top beef to Italians. That company with only 77 employees ranks 2nd in the value of export in the region of Čačak, while the first is Sloboda.
- The company`s capacity is 1,800 heads of cattle per round.Last year we grew 3,000 heads of cattle, while 3,600 calves were grown in 2008. Our plan is to reach 5,000 heads of cattle per year - says Đalović.
