Plant-O-Meter, Device for Assessment of Physiological State of Plants

The industrial prototype of the Plant-O-Meter device of the BioSense Institute, developed in cooperation with BitGear, has seen the light of day.

The device enables an assessment of the physiological state of plants, which is of crucial importance for care and better development.

Plant-O-Metar detects changes before they become visible, analyzes and assesses the health of the plant, that is, its photosynthesis ability, and whether there's a need for fertilization and irrigation.

The device emits light from the carefully selected parts of the spectrum, which is reflected against the plant and provides a precise assessment of its state. The data is sent through a bluetooth connection to the smartphone connected to the device and then further into the information system along with the GPS location of the sample.

The device is also set to display measurement results regardless of the time of the day and the weather conditions.
