Drive-In Cinema at Ada Ciganlija from June 1, Outdoor Theater at Tasmajdan

During the summer evenings, the parking area at Ada Ciganlija will be turned into a cinema, whereas plays will performed at the outdoor stadium at Tasmajdan in evening hours, said the deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic. As he said, in the first phase, between June 1 and July 1, the cinema will be free, after which the sale of tickets will start, Beoinfo reports.

Vesic told Tanjug that, considering that, according to the government's decision, cinemas and theaters are not working and that the decision will remain in effect for a long time, the city wanted to provide its residents with a movie-going experience.

– We have made an agreement with Kombank Dvorana for the parking lot at Ada Ciganlija to be turned into a drive-in cinema at night – Vesic said.

He also announced outdoor play performances.

– We will offer our theaters and cultural institutions to perform plays at the Tasmajdan outdoor stadium during the summer, so that the citizens can see something they couldn't in these past months – Vesic said.

The director of Kombank Dvorana, Igor Stojanovic, pointed out that the audience would be able to see the movies which were part of the repertoire, but whose screening had stopped due to the epidemic.

All the measures will be adhered to, the distance between cars will be secured, and a maximum of two persons or a family of four can be in one car, he added.

– We believe that we will thereby enable this cinema to provide the audience with everything that it's been denied recently – Stojanovic said.
