"Beogradski Kliničko-bolnički centar - KBC" (Belgrade's Medical Center), the first private institution of the kind in the country, has been opened in Belgrade, next to New Belgrade's flea market.

Thanks to the broadest spectrum of medical services, cutting-edge equipment and expert team, this KBC will contribute to easier functioning of the health care system in the country and reduction of long waiting lists.

Seven operating rooms, equipment for the most complicated surgeries in the field of cardiovascular, abdominal, gynecologic, laparoscopic, urologic, oncologic, orthopedic, aesthetic and ophthalmologic surgery, two intensive-care and two semi intensive-care units, luxury one-bed rooms and 62 beds are situated in the first domestic private medical center at 6,000 square meters .

- For the first time in the region, the radiology diagnostics center with the up-to-date equipment and invasive radiology are put under the same roof - says Miljko Ristić, the CEO of "Beogradski KBC".

- Expert staff will do everything they can to reduce long waiting lists, which will be much easier with the hospital's cutting-edge equipment - says Ristić.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Periša Simonović, invites all other investors to follow the example of "Beogradski KBC" and invest in the health care in Serbia.

In order to solve the problem of long waiting lists for heart surgeries, this clinical center will sign the contract with the Republic Institute for Medical Insurance and, thus, enable the patients to have surgeries whose costs will be covered by the state - says Nebojša Zečević, the Director for Medical Issues in "Beogradski KBC" .

- We are absolutely complementary with both Republic Health Care Sector and our colleagues from the private sector. We offer the helping hand to everybody for the welfare of patients - says he.

Zečević also says that the final goal of "Beogradski KBC" is to become available to all citizens of Serbia.

The first private institution of this kind, in which tens of millions of euros were invested, is a very significant investment and even more significant qualitative contribution to the health care system of Serbia.
