VIP Serbia receives 225 ideas for Vip Android Challenge - the most creative designers to get prizes worth 20,000 EUR

Vip Android Challenge has entered the second phase whereby registered developers have to send their applications to Vip and Android market until January 31st. Vip's Android Challenge gathered 669 local developers who sent 225 ideas for applications, so-called widgets or enhancements.

- Number of participants and the quality of applications exceeded all our expectations, which confirms that Serbia has very talented developers who can enrich Android market with domestic applications - said Alexander Sperl, the President of the Administrative Board of Vip Mobile.

The authors of the best 14 applications will win valuable prizes from the prize fund of 20,000 EUR in March. The winner will receive 10,000 EUR in cash for the most creative application that can be applied in Serbia.

Vip Mobile was the first in region to announce Vip Android Challenge in December 2009 for development of applications for Android platform, which is open for all citizens of Serbia older than 18.

Talented individuals, teams, companies, schools or faculties were able to sent their ideas for applications to participate in the competition and, as developers, they got the discount of 10,000 RSD for purchase of any telephone with Android platform from Vip's offer. The criteria for evaluation of applications are the best ideas, their innovativity and applicability in local market.

The users of Android phones worldwide will be able to download all registered applications from Android market for free. According to website Androlib.com, Android market currently has over 23,000 useful applications.
