Construction of passenger ship - river tanker launched in shipyard Beograd

Shipyard Beograd launched the river tanker, built in cooperation with Dutch company Vahali Service & Marine, yesterday (January 14th, 2010).
- The tanker 110 meters long, of which construction took six months, weighs 700 tons and has the capacity of 1,500 tons. It is the seventh ship created as the result of the cooperation between two aforementioned companies - it is stated in the announcement by shipyard Beograd.
The first phase of works, that is, construction of the ship's hull, was finished in Serbia, while complete equipping will be done in Netherlands. In addition to the tanker launching, keel-laying ceremony also marked the beginning of construction of a passenger ship 135 meters long.
The CEO of cargo-logistics center of shipyard Beograd, Pavle Miljković, said that it would be the biggest ship ever built in Serbia.
According to the announcement, the plan is that another five ships be built prior to 2015.
