Zijin Planning Underground Exploitation of Copper and Ore Processing Facility in Cukaru Peki Location

As a result of previous research and conclusions of the Feasibility Study, Zijin Bor Copper intends to open an underground copper mine along with ancillary ore processing and mineral concentration plants, as well as tailings disposal facilities.

In accordance with the reserves of the copper and gold ore deposit Cukaru Peki, an expected production and processing capacity of 10,000 tons a day, or 3.3 Mt of ore per year, has been adopted, as said on the website of CPM Consulting, which is overseeing this project in cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade.

The project, the study says, envisages underground exploitation of ore and preparation on the surface mineral resources, disposal of tailings and construction of other ancillary facilities such as: electricity supply and distribution, water supply and drainage, system for paste application, communications, internal and external transport, and more.
